Ubiquitin-Like Research Made Easy!

ISG15 Products
The ubiquitin-like ISG15 is conjugated to intracellular target proteins in the presence of UbcH8 and the ISG15 E1 Activating Enzyme after IFN- a/b stimulation or microbial challenge. The ISGlyation pathway is distinct from ubiquitination and it appears that it does not target proteins for proteasomal degradation.

SUMO Products
The ubiquitin-like SUMO-1 is conjugated to a variety of proteins in the presence of UbcH9 and the Aos1p/Uba2p (SAE1/SAE2 in human) Activating Enzyme. Sumolyation can occur without the requirement of a specific E3 ligase activity and substrates are primarily localized to the nucleus. SUMO modification has been implicated in functions such as nuclear transport, chromosome segregation and transcriptional regulation.

Nedd8 Products
The ubiquitin-like protein Nedd8 is conjugated to targets by the Nedd8-specific E1 Activating Enzyme (App-Bp1/Uba3), the UbcH12 E2 enzyme, and the ROC1/Rbx1 RING finger E3 ligase. Nedd8 plays a critical regulatory role in cell proliferation and development, and modifies nearly all members of the cullin family.
